Maui Pictures - Kaanapali Beach - Maui's most famous beach is Kaanapali Beach in West Maui. Kaanaplai and Wailea in South Maui, are the resort hot spots for the Valley Isle. All Hawaii beaches are, by law, open to the public. Along Kaanapali Beach many large resorts such as the Hyatt, Marriott, Sheraton, the Westin and Royal Hawaiian provide access to the beach, as well as public restrooms and showers. Plenty of shops like Whalers Village and numerous restaurants are located right along the beach. At Kaanapali Beach the sand is impeccable, the water is clear and is generally flat. Black Rock at the Sheraton Maui is a major Kaanapali landmark.
