Kauai Pictures - Pakala (Infinites) Beach

View of secluded Pakala (Infinites) Beach, Kauai
Kauai Pictures - Pakala (Infinites) Beach - Located just over five miles west of Salt Pond Beach Park, before reaching the town of Wiamea, is Pakala (Infinities) Beach. It is a long strip of golden sand in a secluded setting and is often un-crowded. Kiawe trees (Hawaiian mesquite) line the back of the beach offering plenty of shade, but watch out for the thorns. The sunsets at Pakala Beach are said to be the most beautiful on the island.

Pakala Beach is not the best beach for swimming as the water here tends to be murky due to a nearby stream that empties into the ocean. It is also known for shark sightings, so proceed into the water at your own risk. Pakala Beach is a favorite spot for surfers and body boarders during summer swells. Many experienced surfers venture out here to a spot called “Infinities”, because of its long, peeling waves and long rides.

Pakala (Infinities) Beach lies adjacent to private property, but you are allowed access to the beach via a trail through the kiawe (kee-a-ve). To get to Pakala Beach, find a parking area just past mile marker 21, heading west on Kaumualii Hwy. You should see other cars here parked along the side of the road. After you park, head back east toward the small bridge. Just before you cross the small bridge you'll see a trail headed towards the ocean. Once you make it to the sand you’re on public property.

Bio about Kicka Witte, Photographer of Kealia Beach, Kauai Image:

I love my job! I am so blessed to be able to do what I love for a living and I never take that for granted. When I step behind the camera, I enter another world and I bring that to you. My favorite subjects are people, they don't know how beautiful they are and it's my job to be the mirror that makes them see their beauty. My second favorite subject is nature, I am just humbled by it's beauty and to go out in the wilderness to merge with it, is where I feel the closest to God. It's really not me taking the pictures, I'm just a vessel pushing a button, there is something larger then little me that takes over when I go behind that lens... no awards or educational diplomas really count, it is the pictures that speak to you and touch your heart that matter. If I made you feel something good, you just made my day. As you admire my photograph, you will guide me in my next photo shoot and therefore I am utterly grateful to you. Thank you and may your day be blessed with love and joy!
