Kauai Pictures - Kalalau Beach
Kauai Pictures - Kalalau Beach - Accessible by way of the 11 mile Kalalau Trail from Ke'e Beach is Kalalau Beach, located midway along the isolated Na Pali Coast, at the base of the Kalalau Valley.
Kalalau Beach is a one mile long stretch of sun bathed white sand. Kalalau is so secluded that some areas have no footsteps in the sand, like un-trodden snow. With a waterfall, several caves and caverns, and plenty of trails heading back into the valley to explore, you’ll think you’re in a scene from Jurassic Park. Another smaller beach to the west is accessible if you're a strong swimmer. Beautiful and secluded Kalalau Beach boasts remarkable camping opportunities, by permit only.
A permit is needed to enter anywhere into the Na Pali State Park. Keep in mind that permits are limited and sometimes sold out a year in advance. You can kayak into and out of Kalalau Beach if you are an experienced ocean kayaker. It is easiest to take a sea kayak tour. For a fee you may find some tours to take you there by motor boat.
