Robbo was an excellent guide.

The bike ride no longer goes all the way to Pi'ia. This should be reflected in the literature describing the event.

I will do this activity again! It was spectacular!

There was a problem with Hawaii Downhill knowing our location. Having never stayed on Maui, we could only tell them the name of the resort, which we had as the Ka'apanpail Beach Club. When we contacted Hawaii Downhill upon our arrival, the person taking the call asked me if it was the hotel. (Little did I know that MANY resorts/ hotels in the area had Ka'apanpali in their names!) I told her, no it was not an hotel, but a resort. When it was time for pick-up at 2:15 am, our ride did not come. We called AGAIN. . . and the driver came (he'd been waiting at the hotel.) We left and had a wonderful experience. . . after the frustration of the waiting/ calling mix-up. Please remind these agencies that we realize they book folks every day. . . but we aren't familiar with the area. the person on the phone should have asked more questions if she was unclear about our resort!

We felt the staff had our safety uppermost in their mind.

I had a great time! The ride was fantastic! Our Guide, Billy was great! Not to mention the fact that he was HOT :) I wanted to get to know him better and I know he felt the same but I had to leave back to Arizona the next day. Too bad. This was the second time that I had done the ride. I went with my girlfriend because she had never done it. The sunrise was awesome and our guides were great - the took us up to the higher parking lot and showed us the plants and let us look around. My only complaint (and this is nothing that you can do anything about) is that my girlfriend and I are younger and are not thrill seekers, but are more adventurous. We simply could not go fast enough due to people in our group. My only thought is maybe to ask people up front if they are beginner, intermediate, or advanced and try to group them accordingly so that we can all have a better ride.

Maybe emphasize the need for warm clothing more.

I don't suppose you could have done anything about the clouds that blocked the view of the sunrise... *smile* It was a wonderful time - a good start to our vacation - great people - fun.

A group of 12 of us did this activity together. We all thought this was our favorite activity of our whole vacation

The leader was rather obnoxious. the view was great.

We seemed to get to the top of the volcano a bit early. We reached over an hour before the sunrise, and with how cold it was, it seemed even longer than that. Otherwise, great guides and a great experience.

Maui Downhill wasn't immediately sure what to do with my online ticket. They hesitated to take it at first, then happily accepted it. Not sure how you could improve their familiarity with your service, but perhaps something could be done to prevent weird situations like that in the future.

Marco, our van driver, was the absolute greatest - made the experience great (since we had no sun and had to rely personal testimony...) Rob was marginal- talking about his hangover wasn't the brightest thing to discuss..

Larger shuttle bus to transport group. Van was small. Tight fit for larger adults. Perhaps, fewer people in each vehicle. Long ride was uncomfortable packed in like sardines.

I think we arrived at the top too early and spent 90 uncomfortable cold minutes in the dark waiting for the sun to come up.

We had Steve as our guide -- outstanding, very informative and professional. Carl was our driver; he was great.

Maybe they could ask the clients experience on a bike and put the groups together based on that so experienced riders are not held up by beginners.

When talking to prospective participants, ask if they have light wear ski/snow gear they might pack for the trip, i.e. ski gloves, ski masks, ski hats that are e-z to put in a suit case for the top of the mountain that can be easily transferred to the van at one of the stops down-hill. Fabulous experience.....

The only reason I put OK (totally out of your control) We spendt (00.00 = and the fog or clouds prevented us from seeing the sunrise. Two grandparents and a child rode in the van

The pick-up time was way too early. The views were beautiful though. It would have been better if we could travel at our own pace and not be held up by slower riders.

One of our favorite activities we did in Maui!

Overall it was great but I think that we need to have groups that are experienced bike riders. We were just creeping along and many people in my group that wasn'y happy about the slow pace.

A better lunch should be provided. The helmets should be outfitted with a speaker system so that people can talk to each other and the guides can tolk tot the riders.

what should have been an enjoyable experience was spoiled by the agressive nature of the bike guide, mathew. my wife was intimidated by his negative comments when he should have been encouraging her. from my position in the group(near the back) she was not the slowest person in the group, others were taking a more relaxed approach to the ride and were not going to be rushed. we were not a slow group as we caught up with others several times. finally there may be a limited time available for the ride but i did anticipate having more chances to enjoy the scenery, this guide was only interested in getting to get to the bottom as quickly as possible. finally the driver of the bus, where my wife spent most of the ride down was extremely polite and courteous and did his best to make up for the shortcomings of the bike guide.

The crew was fantastic. A top notch operation. They said that the guide will make or break your experience and our giude was awesome. I would recommend it to others.

Great fun, but expect to see the whole sunrise. Since we were so high above the clouds and it was a pretty cloudy day, we didn't see too much of the sunrise. but the bike down was fun and exhilerating.

guides were a lot of fun and shared some great facts about the island. Guides were Jesse and Josiah

same experience in bike riders on same activity, in other words "family trip", never or unfamiliar with bikes and those with bike riding experience

We were just disappointed that we missed the sunrise. The weather did not cooperate.

Didn't see a great sunrise. I was disapointed until I realized that this was a frequent occurance. Loved the bike ride itself.

THIS WAS THE MOST AWESOME EXPERIENCE WITH THE SUNRISE AND THE DOWNHILL BIKE RIDE FOR US. WE WOULD DO IT AGAIN.
