Some of the more popular fish include the milletseed butterfly fish, yellow tangs, trumpet fish, Moorish idols, puffer fish, parrot fish, surgeon fish, angel fish and the Hawaii State Fish, the Humuhumunukunukuapuaa.

Snorkeling is one of the favorite activities of visitors to Hawaii, and Hanauma Bay is a destination everyone wants to visit. Activity offers high-quality, sanitized snorkel rental equipment, safety vests, prescription masks, viewing boards, fish ID cards, underwater cameras (for purchase) and roundtrip transportation from all Waikiki hotels. Snorkeling in Hanauma Bay is safe and appropriate for all ages and experience levels.

I suggest having a little more time for snorkeling, especially for first timers. We had a group of 8. By the time we got the hang of snorkeling and became a little comfortable, it was time to go. It was however a great experience.

the guide was wonderful. He took his time with us and made sure we saw everything. It was our first time snorkeling and my first time really being in water over my head. He relaxed me and made the outing spectacular.
