Enjoy the freedom of mountain biking down Haleakala Volcano at your own pace. You drop 3,000 feet in 10 miles and curve around 29 switchbacks. Stop often and enjoy the incredible vistas of west Maui surrounded by the Pacific. Below 4,000 feet you come to "Upcountry Maui" — vegetable truck farms, protea farms, lodges, galleries and Kula Botanical Gardens.

You have the option of expanding your day and including Keokea, the Chinese community, Tedeschi Winery and the Enchanted Gardens. Further down the mountain is Makawao town — Paniolo (cowboy) country, outiques, shops and wonderful places to stop and enjoy a leisurely meal. Take your time and travel at your own pace.

- Haleakala Express Bike Tour (8:30am check-in)
This affordable day trip does not include national park tour. Van ride up Haleakala Volcano, then stage at 6500 feet, just outside National Park entrance, from where you ride down the mountain at your own pace back to the Haiku store by 4:00pm.

- Summit Deluxe Bike Tour (8:30am check-in)
Van ride to Haleakala's 10,023 foot summit for a view of the crater and a narrated tour of Haleakala National Park, which includes the summit, crater, and visitor center. Stage at 6,500 feet from where you ride down the mountain at your own pace back to the Haiku store by 4:00pm.

- Haleakala Sunrise Special Bike Tour (4:00am check-in)
Departure approximately 2 hours before sunrise. Transportation up to Haleakala Summit to see the sunrise over the Haleakala Crater, guided van tour (1-2 hours) of the National Park. Stage at 6,500 feet from where you ride down the mountain at your own pace back to the Haiku store by 4:00pm.

Haleakala National Park and Upcountry Guided VAN Tour
Those who wish to participate in the fun but do not want to bike down can join family and friends on either of two narrated tours. Sunrise Special includes no-host breakfast at Kula Lodge plus guided tour of Makawao, Haiku and Paia towns. Summit Deluxe day tour includes stop at Alii Kula Lavender farm, Tedeschi Winery and no-host lunch at Ulupalakua Ranch store.

Round Trip Transportation Is Available from Hotels or Cruise Ships
Participants who book pickups will be on a schedule, and will be returned to their hotels/cruise ships by 12:00 noon for the Sunrise Tour, by 4:00pm for the Deluxe Day Tour. There is no pickup for Express Tour.

Check-in Times: 4:00am for Sunrise Tour, 8:30am for all others
Return Times: Anytime until 4:00pm. Enjoy the ride!
Bring: Bottled water or others drinks and a snack recommended.
Children: Children 5 & older pay adult price. Children under 8 years of age cannot ride by themselves. Children 5-7 can ride on trailer-bikes.
Vehicles: Exclusive mini buses with large viewing windows, 2X2 seating, and special third braking system.

All Haleakala Bike Tours include Gary Fisher mountain bikes "downhill specific" with front 8" disc brakes, helmet, backpack, rain/wind gear, gloves and map with points of interest.
