Customer Review: Sunset Sail with Alii Nui
The brand new 65' foot sailing catamaran Ali’i Nui was waiting at Maalaea harbor. The little rain and overcast sky didn’t bother us at all due to the warm welcoming staff on board, that greeted us with fresh juices and pineapple. As soon as we departed, a dolphin joined us and played joyfully in front of the boat. Not too far away, a whale must have just given birth, because we could spot the big adults and the small baby whale resting on the surface near by. While cruising over the glassy ocean, the sun slowly showed itself through the cloud cover, exposing a spectacular sight of whales, complemented by the vivid sunset colors. A great new sonar instrument was on board the vessel that allowed us to hear the whale songs very clearly through a loudspeaker. Captain Chris and the crew Aarika, Mia, Alex, worked hard to make it the best trip ever! From all the smiling and satisfied passengers, to the breath taking scenery of the sunset and the whales, and finally the incredible refreshments, there was nothing missing as this trip truly was a great as it gets! During this late afternoon/evening cruise, the ocean was calm with no breeze make it a more than peaceful environment. Whenever Ali’i Nui sets the sails, if conditions allow it, this trip will be unforgettable!
