Our crater horseback tour take place at world-famous Mt. Haleakala on East Maui, a 10,000-foot mountain that is a dormant volcano.

Haleakala Crater Ride
O Pele Junction - 4 hours
This is our most most popular ride! Round trip totals 7.6 miles of breath-taking scenery! The elevation change is approximately 2,500 feet to the crater floor along 3.8 miles of gently sloping trails.

Delicious turkey, tuna, ham and cheese or veggie sandwiches and icy cold beverages are served for lunch out on the trail. Check-in 8:30am, return at 2:30pm.

Two Haleakala Ranch Rides
Ride across Haleakala Ranch with lush terrain and beautiful ocean views - located on the slopes Haleakala Crater at 4000 feet elevation.

- Paniolo Express - 2 hours
This two-hour ride crosses Haleakala Ranch, located on the slopes of the crater at 4,000 feet, and includes lush terrain and incredible ocean views. Check-in 8:00am.
- Mauka Ride - 1.5 hours
Two-hour ride across beautiful Haleakala Ranch near Kula, in Upcountry Maui. Check in at 1:30pm

Restrictions: No pregnant riders!
Maximum weight: 235 lbs.
Location: Haleakala Ranch Outpost on Crater Road
Great for all levels of riding! Novice, intermediate or experienced.

NOTE: Not for 1st-time riders. Because of the 10,000 foot elevation, riders are screened for heart, lung, sun and other health concerns.

Tell people it is MANDATORY to have plenty of sunscreen with them. That is the only thing that kept it from being excellent. We both got burned pretty bad. The guide "Byron" was the best guide we have ever had in our lives!! I cannot say enough about him, he made the day!!!

The guide put the beginner riders at the end of the group, and they quickly got left behind. While he did stop a few times to let them catch up, the consequence was that they could not hear any of his commentary. It was interesting, but I wouldn't recommend it.
