More than 10,000 endangered humpback whales migrate from the cold waters of Alaska each year to mate and calve in tropical Hawaiian waters during the winter months.
WHALE WATCH CRUISES BEGIN DECEMBER 15th - MARCH 31st
Endangered Humpback Whales
During their annual sojourn here, these whales exhibit many interesting and acrobatic behaviors that can easily be seen and enjoyed from the numerous whale watch tours available throughout the Hawaiian Islands. The name humpback describes the motion they make as they arch theirback out of the water in preparation for a dive.
Humpbacks often breach high out of the water, and then slap the water as they come back down. Sometimes they twirl around while breaching. This behavior may be merely for play, or may be used to loosen skin parasites, or have some unknown social meaning.
Whale Watch Cruise by Body Glove
Learn from the naturalist onboard as we encounter wild dolphins, sea turtles, manta rays, whales and other marine life. Be serenaded by the songs of the humpback, captured live with our underwater hydrophone.
Excellent photo opportunities abound. You will be served tropical fruits and snacks, juice or soda.

We were not able to see whales up close but that is how nature works. Made some great contacts with people who we will be in touch with again on our next vacation there.

They helped my wife who is in a wheelchair and made her feel very comfortable. The crew was freindly and knowledgeable and Denver, our naturalist, was able to speak to all of the guests and I never felt as if he was talking down to us or over our heads. If we ever come back, this is the one activity we will book 1st.

Picture of the ship Body Glove on Website http://www.hawaiiactive.com/activities/bigisland-whalewatch.html
gave me the misimpression that the ship would travel (at least partially)under sail, but there was not a sail to be seen during the cruse.

Great fun and a lot of good information to learn about the whales and other marine life. We were able to see a mom and her calf, plus a male escort and the calf was very inquisitive and entertaining!
